Why not visit the many galleries dotted throughout the Maleny area and experience all that our local artists have to offer. While you're at it, you might sample some wines while you chat about harvests and vintages at the local Maleny wineries. Don't forget to stop for lunch – we are spoilt for choice when it comes to food - from casual café style to fine dining either in Maleny, neighbouring Montville, or overlooking the magnificent Glasshouse Mountains.
For the health conscious, a short stroll down the road from our house will take you to Bergann's Walk which cuts through the heart of the beautiful dairy country of Witta.
A short drive down the end of the street, and you can enjoy horse riding to suit all levels of ability. Experienced riders might enjoy a trail ride through the green hills.
Every third Saturday of the month, the Witta Markets are held in the Old Witta School grounds where local growers and producers sell their wares. If nothing catches your eye, then perhaps coffee and a bacon and egg roll will keep you going while you browse the produce, oils, plants and liqueurs. Don’t forget to taste the offerings – they're great! Get there early though, it closes at twelve.
Every Sunday, only five minutes drive away is the Maleny Markets located in the Community Hall in the middle of town. From 8am to 2pm, it is filled with local handicrafts, bric-a-brac, sweet treats, jams and pickles and enthusiastic creators willing to share their processes.
At the end of the day, settle into the chairs on the veranda, put your feet up and watch the shadows lengthen over the hills with a glass of wine. Or if it's too cold, move inside and light the fire.
Maudy's restaurant at Witta is a just a few minutes drive - the perfect way to end a day.
